Thea Paves the Way
Thea Foundation’s annual sidewalk chalk event, Thea Paves the Way, will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 12p.m. on the front lawn of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library, where dozens of school, family, church, and community groups will share in the creative effort to cover the sidewalks in vibrant chalk art. This year Ms. Schultz, Ms. McSpadden, and Ms.Higgins will have space reserved for our amazing students from Episcopal Collegiate! All students, families, friends, and faculty are welcome to come join in the fun!
Ms. Schultz is looking for volunteers to sketch a design for this years Upper School layout for our two sidewalk spaces. The theme is "Celebrating our HeART".
The summer flew by for me. I kept busy in my garden and when it was too hot I painted. I painted a lot. Several of my new pieces are on display in the Upper School commons with the other new art teachers. Please swing in check out what we have been doing during our summer.
I am looking forward to another exciting school year in the studio. One whole year of Choice Art under our belts and there is no stopping us now. We have so many individual voices and beautiful works to develop and share this year. The plan is to host an ARTS REVEAL NIGHT in October so keep an eye out for the invitation to hear and see what the young artists at Episcopal Collegiate School are producing.
Here is an article that shares my summer professional development. My students were featured in my summer STEAM Arts Integration presentation.
Here is some feedback from the presentation:
See you in the Art Studio soon!
